The New Face of Politics

"Are we really taking that route down" I had said looking over the edge at the direction we were about to take.I was never going to make the fastest skier but being careful I was able to guide everyone down in a blizzard when the lifts were all shut oneday.

The Way ;- The Truth ;- The Life;-.........................................................

The New Face of Politics ;-the Peoples Politics ;- the Peoples Choice ;- a Silent Prayer Today before we face the problems that we are going to inherit;- we need to lay the foundations in preparation for the future to deliver the Change that is planned and the strength of the Leader who is to carry this weight upon his shoulders but with the support of his team
who will help him carry this heavy load to find

the inspiration required to lift the spirits of the population today.
A Call For Action now from people who have been "Let Down"

The photo above ;- I had chosen a Pink outfit for the Talverera procession in Northnats 25th July 09 ;- a day when we remembered our troopps abroad and those returning home.I am Vice Chair of DDC 2009/2010 and will attend those events that the Chair is unable.

Lets put a different perspective on the problems we face today and think about the "values" our children are being taught in our school today.
At the beginning of the snowy weather in February I had taken an Assembly on Africa at the Primary School who at the start of a new term were learning about Countries around the World. A good point the children had responded to my introduction because we had met before when I took their Assemblies in the Infant School , the foundation of their schooling.
And then I went onto to say about the History back in the 1960's when Africa was facing a "War" and how this will have effected the people of that Continent.
Daventry linked with Iganga in 1996/7 when I first became involved and began corresponding with a school and womens group. The link grew and now this year teachers from daventry schools have visited to carry out work in their schools.
Yesterday I collected some of my artifacts from the schools and took photos of their artwork in African style placed on display in the entrance.

A different perspective on the problems we face today and we take a look at the foundation stage of a childs schooling and the importance of "Communication" before furthering their education and learning to read and write. But also important are the "Values being taught with all the children.
I began my writing in 1995 and in 1996/7 I had written about "Values" and also led some simple workshops one of them learning about the "fruits of the Spirit" which are our basic values today.I had also written about "Communication and looked at Marketing in one of my micro lesson with Adults .
The "Link" between what our children are learning today and what we have to learn too is closer than you think.
We are beginning a new subject and facing "A New Politics" the basic learning will be;-
Foundation Stage ;- laying those foundations
Communication and Community
Values (fruits of the Spirit)
The understanding of Peoples needs and emotions.
Quality of Life"
Improving our Public Services.
The Climate Change
The Environment
Safety.
Health and Well Being.( Mental Health)
Voluntary
The Economy
Transport
Education
Finance.
Childrens Services.

Two years ago this very weekend I was out in the Iganga District visiting Namsaala and attending the Church there with its Community of people. I was asked to speak;-

It was Holy Trinity weekend and the Priest back at home had always said this was the hardest Homily to take. I spoke unscripted and quite nervous , there was someone translating for me and by the end of my speech I got everyone to shake the hands of Peace.

The Reverend that day asked me to sign his Sermon register and I spoke with the head of the Community there who seemed very pleased about the occassion and later in the week we all gathered to play netball and football with the school there.

There were two other Churches I spoke at services and these were Catholic and I soon found my confidense following the Priests Homilies.

I spoke about the work being completed by Friends of Iganaga during our stay in Iganga and also Water for Kids who were assisting with the Water resources. I hoped they would continue to maintain and support that work after our return home.

A group are there visiting at present and with each visit more work is completed helping to build their Communities.

Trinity Sunday at home this weekend and I shall attend this evening to make the Welcome to the Congregation at the Catholic Church.

We are building our Communities both here and in Africa and all around the World;-

All around the World the Spirit is with us ;-................................................................

I have been able to report in our local paper for the past few weeks speaking of events in the Community that have taken place . Awareness of the opportunities we have as Communities to join together and learn what is taking place but also how people benefit from those events too.

At Mass this evening;- Saturday 6th June 2009 ;- I had made the Welcome to the congregation and read 1st and bidding Prayers at St Augustines Church Daventry.

Sunday 7th June 2009 ;- the evening at the count for the European Election results in our part of the East Midlands. I was assisting Lorina and Chris and we were all interested as the results came in and the split of votes between the smaller parties. I was home before 1pm and listened to the remaining East Midlands results when I heard we still had two seats for the Cons and gained one seat over the Country with 19 seats and labour losing significant seats and smaller parties gaining votes and seats.

Interesting to hear the European results as they came in with EPP the centre right party which includes the Cons / gaining seats.and will dominate Brussells.

Two hours into Monday and there are still results coming in but I shall retire now and hear more in the morning. The results just coming in from Manchester /% votes up for the Cons with labour losing one seat to BNP.( substantial amounts of rejected votes wasted.)

Back to Normal this week with meetings Monday/Tuesday and Wednesday and then another one arranged for Friday discussing a travel plan at The Grange School.A problem I had forseen last August with so much traffic trying to park around the school on the Grange.

Different areas to park cars was looked at and discussed, parents walking to school with their children with a walking bus organised and staggering the times of children entering the school was talked about.A Travel Plan will be orgainised first giving consultation to all Parents.

A quieter weekend with the new Scout Hut being opened this afternoon and then later I shall be at Mass at St Augustines RC Church in Daventry making the "Welcome to the Congregation". Monday I shall catch a train into London staying with my daughter Emma overnight before attending the University College on Tuesday.

This morning I met with friends at the CWO AGM which began with coffee and then later lunch after the business of the AGM.,the importance of the womens vote in the next election

and the issues and concerns we should be involved with in the next year.

I left about 2pm before the end of the talk by the National Chair of CWO and was in Daventry by 4pm ready for the start of DDH Board meeting.Home by 9pm and it had been a long day.

The womens perspective, a different outlook and pair of eyes

The new role of Vice Chair is keeping me busy with Civic Services, flying the flag and many other functions to attend. I now have a collection of new hats to choose with each outfit

and next week I shall have my hair cut.

Next Monday and Tuesday I have different events to attend and travelling to Harrogate in a day would have been to far so the Leader will be attending anyway and will attend the General Assembly.

I read the 2nd reading from Luke at the Civic service in Moulton this weekend and I also spoke with the High Sheriff of Northampton, back in 1987/8 I helped at dinners for the High Sheriff at that time in Gt Houghton helping to serve food for his guests.

Networking with many new people at each different events and tomorrow I shall take the Assembly at the local Infant School.

The hand that held with assurance and love has been a helping hand much appreciated and much needed too.

The Rushing of the waves that come towards you, that slowly fade into the sandy beach, and theres a calm feeling around you of safety and security, are you ready.

Lets Shine a Light that burns that inner feeling that glows with warmth, are you ready.

The tree with its roots firmly embedded and the strength to reach higher, are you ready.

A diary of dates and a secret lies within, are you ready....................................................

Today I called into Woodford Halse C/Centre and arrangement to talk to the children on July 3rd

about Road safety for Pre-school children and another date for the diary in August when it is national Play Day.

This evening I went to the Governance meeting and learnt more about the Statement of Accounts.
